Got a new rear tyre fitted down at Essential Rubber (nice lads) cost me £145 though :( I ended up getting another PR3 as they didn't have much choice in stock and I couldn't wait. At least I have a matching pair whereas if I changed brands it would have been a mismatch. Oh well it will get me through Winter. Feels like a different bike and I can ride without the wallowing from side to side now. So new chain and sprockets, new rear tyre, the bikes roadworthy again. :D Might give it a wash now, then I can get it scrubbed in over the weekend as I'm off back down to Sussex.

Tony...I got chatting to the guy there and he said that there was a massive shortage on the Sportsmart 2 fronts because of a fault. No mention of what the fault was, all they know is that Dunlop stopped production and fixed the fault ready for the next batch to be released, hence the shortage. I mention it as I know you just got a pair, I'm not sure if there is a batch number or something that one can check. Might be worth looking into though. I'll have a little search online later maybe.

Been out and the knocking is gone woohoo :-)
But the new head bearing started knocking on the way back so a little adjusting and all should be good .
The front end feels a lot better with them internals in and the air gap at 110mm .
With that and the 06 yokes it's fun to ride as corner speeds are getting higher as still feels stable

Not exactly done today but since I picked up my Storm I've sorted the valve timing, replaced the CCTs with manual ones, checked the compression (no bent rod after the CCT went) and replaced the front SE value. Embarrassingly piss poor considering I've had the bike two months. I've spent plenty of time scouring the interweb for trinkets and bauballs that I don't really need though :D .

Just spent lunch trying to work out why the engine cover won't fit and it looks like someone's run the loom through the clip that supports the fuel line to the front carb. At least that's what I think is wrong from memory, it was driving me mad last night trying to work out why the cover wouldn't stay in place on the left. Carbs back on this weekend I hope.

I know what your talking about.Yeh that loom should run on the underside of the bottom spar on the frame. The only wiring near that clip is what goes to the thermostat. The clip is only for the fuel line. I took mine off as it become something else to do when removing the tank/carbs. No need for it really.
