Spent two hours on at the weekend re-routing the loom so I could get the engine cover to fit properly so I could get the carbs fitted. Carbs went on, then came off, then went on again, only to come off again. Lost my rag and drank wine instead.

Bloody hell mate it only really fits one way. Took me less than an hour...

It was a disaster from start to to finish. I should have taken the loom off back to the battery first time and started from scratch. Instead I tried the 'that'll do' approach and of course it didn't. The carbs go in OK, but I didn't realise the choke SE valves can't be screwed in with the carbs in place.

Not exactly done to the bike, but I remounted the garage door, and greased and rebalanced all of the mechanisms that counterbalance it.
A right bugger it was too!
Nice now though, one handed open and close.
But I have almost emptied a tin of grease- and they last forever.
I must go grease shopping, last time I bought one must be ten years ago...
