Had a visit from the Pineapple today.

Changed his oil lines.

Swapped the rear plastics & saddle over on Neu then strapped the wheel with the fecked tyre on board ready for a run to the tyre shop tomorrow...

cheers for today macster, thanks for kindly helping to loosen the head bearing, it's much better, but still tugs a wee bit, I hope to fit new taper bearing next week. I also forgot to reconnect the front indi's, and I also went in the car only lane at the Dartford river crossing, a small angry lady had to open the barrier by hand.....
I did manage to get her to smile tho, and no I didn't show her my chipolata....................
thanks again mac...

Ran out of fuel on the A21 (Hurst green) Lucky for me I didn't have to push the bike as I had only just left my friends house who came and rescued me with so go juice. Only got in 20mins ago and the ride home has knackered me out.

Had an interesting day the other day. Had to tow a bike with my bike. My mates XR250 needed bump starting as the kickstart wasn't having it. Instead of me pushing it, we decided to tow it with my bike. I took the tail fairing off and attached the tow rope to the Rennetec mount. Towing another bike was a first for me and I guess for my Storm.

That takes a bit of skill :) it's easier with a car. Did you manage to get your mates XR250 started Carl :?:

Carl, you should call your bike the tractor!!

That has to be a first for a Storm.

Maybe you could start a sideline with her and fund future mods

Oh yeh. It back fired a couple of times before it kicked into action but it started. The only thing is once it's switched off it wont start with the kickstart again :( I think it needs the decompression cable adjusted but he wont let me tinker with it. I'd have the carbs off and give them a good clean out too. All we done was changed the plug, oil and filters before starting it.

The thing is my mate has a dodgy right ankle (old injury) and has been dreaming of using the bike again for a bit of fun. A bit of a pipe dream really!!! Kicking and kicking gave him pain in the ankle and he's now convinced himself that it's time to finally get rid as it never gets used and his ankle wont cope. His heart does not wont to let it go but he had to convince himself it's the right decision. Well, it seems that way to me. That's first time the bike had started in 10 years 8O It's been sitting in storage since getting back from Portugal where it was last used on a fairly regular basis, when they lived out there. It was good to hear the old girl running for 10 mins. I can't ride it as it's too tall for me. I'd be OK as long as there is a tree to lean against everytime I stopped.

I had one iffy moment when towing it. We where both coming to a stop and I pulled the rope a little taught and flop over I went. My bike fell to the side, leg out and tried to stop myself falling, but it went past the point of no return so I gently lay the bike down on me. No damage to my bike, not even a mirror. :D Other than that towing it was not so bad. The Storms torque towed it real easy. The hardest past was trying to keep the speed down and steer straight. At such low speeds and towing my bars where weaving all over the place.

Loaded up Neu & headed off to the wild lands of East London... 8O

Image

One fairly uncomfortable ride later* Neu sports a shiny new pair of Mich PR3's...
Very shiny even had a slide when gassing it away from a set of lights...

Think I'll go for a spin tomorrow & scrub 'em in properly...

Good job I've got 999 on speed dial...

Mac why have you got an old tyre on the bike. Couldn't you dispose of it. Did you use Essential Rubber.
