I did try turning my knobs, but failed to make any impact on how the bike runs.. bit confusing.
If no difference in sound and/or revs when doing an idle drop then it could be a sign that your too rich elsewhere. Too big pilots or needles too rich maybe.
I think we are all glad that I had clothes on when I took the picture........ :eek2 :eek2 :eek2
And why are you licking the back of your hand in the left mirror or are you catching flies again

went for a ride this morning, visited mark in woking and ian in Orpington, all good fun, first time I've ridden with the new foam grips, so it's going to take a little getting used to, they're comfy enough and give good feedback thru the handle bars, I've only ever had hardish rubber grips so they're strange at first, the circumference is bigger and that's one of the things that takes getting used too, i'm used to gripping something with a smaller circumference......
most of the cagers moved out of my way on the M25, this might be down to the blue led sidelight bulb, or just the ferking loud exhaust, either way it's all good.
I even pulled up next to a bike cop in central London, and he never said anything about the blue led bulb.....
a big thanks to mark and ian for the cups of coffee and the ginger biscuits.....

mark suggested its because the blade caliper is underslung so the the brake line would be on the otherside, I did ask him if he knew of someone that could make me and underslung rear caliper mount.......
he just gave me a look that said.....NO.......

I don't remember you saying anything about wanting a underslung caliper... you may have got the same look but i can't remember it :confused ... also think your caliper could be for a SP maybe?
Why ask... sometime you just go to do it and find out?

What have I done to my bike today?

1) Fixed front indicator back on. (Must have knocked it off removing the dust cover. It's a 1998 bike but the holes for the indicators look shaped for the blobby ones on later models. I've got little after-market LEDs which don't really fit the holes that well, but think I've fixed it back ok. We'll see how long it lasts..)

2) Cleaned the spray off it picked up when I rode it to work on Wed. Didn't pick the best day for that.

3) Adjusted the chain. Having got advice on this forum I didn't follow it, mainly through lack of paddock stand and handy person to sit on the bike. The chain was resting on the exhaust pipe when stationary with a fair bit of play in the chain. I was advised that you can over tighten it if someone isn't sitting on the bike when you do it. First problem was that my socket wrench isn't really up to the job. Only just managed to get the axle nut off. Then tightened the chain so that it no longer rests on the pipe and doesn't clank it when you lift the chain up and let go. Made sure the markers matched up good on each side then tightened the axle back up pretty much as hard as I could and similar to how it was before. There's still an inch and a half or so's play in the chain. Good enough for now?
