That's something I need to invest in (a good tool chest ) maybe next xmas

last year my local Halfords had a stock clear out, I got the last two, two piece tool chests for £35 for the pair, I gave one of them to a friend and keep the other one for myself, tbh the quality isn't that great, but it was an unbelievable price, iirc the rrp was £70 just for one.

I can't be trusted with tool chests. It's either an excuse to then have to spend a sh1t load of money to fill them up or I generally just end up burying it in a pile of stuff/rubbish that just gets built up on top of it as I'm too lazy to find anywhere else to dump stuff

I rock the old cantilever style tool boxes now. Prefer the portability

Yes the blue ones... 250 down to 100. Not pro quality, but more than good enough for amature garage use

Fitted a BMW S1000rr Mosfet R/R...As you can see its a big bugger so had to relocate the flasher relay to inside the subframe.

Then I had a look at Neu Red to do the same mod...



However being an F2 the ECU is mounted on the side of the subframe so not only will the flasher relay have to move but the loom is different & as you can see here...



...the wires for the R/R are not long enough...

So ponder time...I can lengthen the wires to fit the new connector blocks & fit it as in the pic with the connectors facing to the rear... but that means dodgy joins in the loom...not good.
I can turn the R/R so the connectors face forward...now there is a clearance issue with the blocks & the coil & it will mean drilling a new hole for the bolts to avoid this + the wires may still need a bit extra.
I can wire it without the blocks by unpicking & using the spades already on the loom. I might be able to flip the ECU so the connector block for that is at the front & therefore giving more slack in the loom...

It wont fit vertically as it's too long. It cant sit under the seat as it wont be earthed...( having said that there is no separate earth wire on the F2 there is however a loose plate that fits between the R/R & the frame... I think that may be a heat sink...?)

I can give up today go & have a fag & a coffee & ponder...Oh I am already...

Fitted the kermit bodywork back on and the mori system / gutted air box and mori stacks .
Now got the battery on charge as it was flat .
Going for a run some time soon

that's good to hear lloydie, I love the pic of your bike in front of that speed boat in devon, yours is one of the nicest storms in the uk dude....

Thanks and it'll be even nicer with the tuned mota and blade wheels (6" rear) :-)

Bought a new cover for it, last one got blown away (don't even know how) and wasn't that good, so I pulled out the big guns and bought an Oxford Stormex cover.. I like it already, it's heavy and very weatherproof with an adjustable strap..

Just annoyed about the bloody price of it really, but oh well!
