10 out of 10 for the digs Gabie, the route could have been better, but we live and learn, we'll just have to sort a better one out for next year, talking about next year, count me in.

Just a thought. I can plot a route if people are interested. Or, simply add Op Storm Cumbria with a start further north than Gauber.

plot the route out Iain, we can either use it for Yorkshire run or for the Friday route up to Scotland bunkhouse.

Gauber to Alston

A possible route for the Yorkshire trip but also a nice route up from the South on the way to Scotland.

From Alston you have choices. West down to Penrith via Melmerby. This is a stunning road but a little bit of a double back. Instead you can carry on North up to Brampton, Newcastleton then Hawick and Selkirk. From Selkirk head East to Moffatt. A long way around but highly recommended.
