This is the route from Gauber to Alston
Gauber to Alston
A possible route for the Yorkshire trip but also a nice route up from the South on the way to Scotland.
From Alston you have choices. West down to Penrith via Melmerby. This is a stunning road but a little bit of a double back. Instead you can carry on North up to Brampton, Newcastleton then Hawick and Selkirk. From Selkirk head East to Moffatt. A long way around but highly recommended.
