Started the job of giving my recently acquired storm a complete service and fluids change this afternoon.

Took bell pan off and first problem, one of the stud holes in the pan is snapped and badly repaits - in fact hanging off - so thats been repaired, as I will in time get a full lower fairing.

So oil is dropped, filter removed, so on I go tomorrow, with new filter, new oil(the old oil looked a bit murky!!!) , then onto airfilter, plugs and full coolant change.

Learning so much - its a bit different to my 98 Blade !!!!

IMO, leave the intake as it is and just move ex timing to get overlap between 30 and 45. I will take closer look later and post some suggested timing.

Lloydie: this could work

Yosh IN: BTDC 20 / ABDC 50
Oem EX: BBDC 50 / ATDC 15
at 1 mm valve lift.

Valve overlap is 35 deg in this case, and you will still benefit from higher valve lift of Yosh and 250 duration (compared to oem 245). I would rather check valve to piston clearance if you change the timing. Change is only on IN cams.

just for info, valve lift on OEM EX cams is 10.15 mm

The voyage of discovery continues.......

Today I managed to remove the fairing and the tank, changed the air filter( it was a mess , no wonder it's running a big rich)replaced the plugs - now that is a challenge.

Tomorrow it's a full coolant change.

Tried to fit the x-11 sidestand but I'll add my comments to an existing thread on that.

So confidence is growing with the storm and I'm fully intending to take on the manual cct s and the suspension linkage !!!!
