I've done the same to mine , I think it's normal after a few to many trips into the air box

I spent 4hrs washing and polishing today Image

Spent the rest of the day waiting for a new eprom chip which never arrived as royal mail screwed up :( should be here tomorrow though as I can have a play then :)

Nope - it's the same things that's in the front nose fairing plastic - the threaded inserts (x4) are embedded/moulded into the soft plastic which secures the screw fasteners mounting the headlight. Barbs on the insert keep it secure within the plastic.

Disconnect battery before changing the chip or you could fry the brain.. I played around with chips and in the end fitted a power commander, results were much better, free'd up 7bhp at the wheel.

Had a custom chip made up which works with all the mods I have. The bloke who makes them has hundreds of hours on a dyno testing. It's proven to give around 6bhp on average (fitted his air box too) so will have it down the dyno again at the end of the month to find out what I've gained. Have a pc3 fitted already so any changes that may need to be made can be

Went for a nice little pootle about today. Lovely weather and clear roads, mostly. Stopped to take a couple of pics -
