whats made me happy today(yesterday) and a bit sad. driving for 12 hrs mostly in dense fog. picking up my very own spondon and turning up to see it after its been sitting in a damp shed for near 6 years .....

but its mine now..

I'm pleased that i have no brain damage having been in A&E last night with a deep skull laceration (cut!) having had the loft hatch (chunky ply) swing down, impact my head and the metal latch embed in my bonce and knock me part way down the stairs. Only now do i realise I have a developing bald patch

Oh Bejeezus n' god help us all...

He's bad enough on the road with 2 wheels...

...and now they're planning letting him loose with 18 of the buggers?

That said, I dunno if it's a Class 1 or not, as all I see is the front of the cab.

Not that it makes any difference. He can still crush stuff.

Are you paying for this yerself? Or are you gonna be tied to a contract with a company for 2 years if they're paying for it?

(in the old days, if a company paid for your HGV ticket, you had to stay with them for a while, to stop people just gaining the ticket and buggering off straight away to a better company)

What's the goal? To do O/N trunking and LD stuff, or just local work shunting back and forth to be home in time for tea?

brain damage ...........from the impact or an existing condition!

That's a class 1 that I sat in back on the pro drive day in 2014 and wanted one ever since .

I'm paying for it all myself sadly tho where I work will take me on once I have passed it all (might be an option) .

Not sure I'll be staying there tho as I want to find work on the class 2 when I get it (within a month or two)I should be booking a assessment day for next week and see how many days lesions I'll need before class 2 test . Them Find a job gain some experience then do the class 1 and move to that during summer .

I'd like to start local (U.K.)then take on the world :-) .

You've got to love that auto correct!

I dunno how many lesions you'll need, but if you get more than 1, there's a cream that can be applied to soothe them.

If you get them on yer hands, you're gripping the wheel too tight.

If you get them on yer man parts, the instructor is gripping too tight, but may follow with ''congratulations, you have passed''.

Doing local runs will get you some hours put in. Then you can offer to run the cities up the motorway. Then a bit further with an overnight stop, then if it's yer plan, being away from home for a week or so (which will bring you into Continental).

Don't envy anyone doing that nowadays, with the hassle of immigrants in all the ports clambering all over your wagon, cutting the curtainside and smashing locks. It's only a matter of time afore someone gets killed.

NAH - there's still good money to be had trunking in the UK. Just get the hours under yer belt, and you can then afford to pick and choose the jobs. Buy Truck & Driver mag (or Transport Cafe News - available at truckstops) to keep up with the latest goings on, and have a word with drivers that you see in the town when yer out on the bike (or drop by the local truck park). They can give you a heads up as to whos taking on drivers.

Nope it's just my spelling is sh1t !!lmao .

I do multi drop now all over the midlands and a little bit more so I'm looking forward to going out more .

If I'm honest I'm not looking forward to the crossings at all :-(.
