Fitted a radial M/C from a Kawa Z1000SX today, with new Venhill brake lines and fresh fluid.

Was going to fit a braided clutch line, but ran out of brake fluid...so that'll be tomorrow's job

Don't expect any difference after fitting a braided clutch line.
With brakes the line has to stand high pressures without ballooning, but the clutch line simply moves fluid from the master to the slave, so doesn't build up any pressure. Looks better, though.

Agreed.

Doing it mainly to replace the 22 year old rubber line, but it will look a little better too

HEL clutch line fitted. Was a spare from my old Hack ZZR11 which blew its gearbox a few years back.

Bled fine with my compressor-powered quick bleeder thing.

Next job probably a braided rear brake hose.

Have also bought a black 'replica' clutch lever on eBay to match the black Z1000SX front brake lever.
Will only fit it if it's not junk quality, but at £12 delivered, it probably will be

That's it all done until I get to ride it, unless anyone can think of anything else worth doing?

A cheap cosmetic mod. Buy yourself some stainless dome nuts to hold the mirrors on. You can see them when riding, and the painted ones you have with flaking paint let the view down a bit.

Few other cosmetic jobs need doing, like the engine casing paint in places.

I did remove the 'Wear a helmet' and 'Use unleaded' stickers' from the tank yesterday. That'll upset The Purists

Cheap eBay black clutch lever fitted.

Looks to be OK quality and fitted well.

All is good, unless it snaps off after a few applications

After Tony's suggestion I have been looking for mirror fixing replacement nuts, as the one's on my bike are not looking their best either. Not the easiest to find if you want to replace like with like regardless of finish or different materials such as stainless steel etc, as iirc they are domed nuts with a flange. Most don't have a flange. David Silver can still get them although a special order, but are £18.32 for four with delivery.

I'm going to try the stainless DIN M6 dome nuts without the flange.
Can always bung a washer underneath if needed.

£3.73 including delivery for a pack of 10 from Bolt-World on eBay.

You don't need a flange.
Flanges weigh more...
