I'm not selling in this section, merely posting what I did with my bike today.
What I did was to list some exhausts that used to be on my bike on Ebay, with item number 141823006404.
That's what I did today.
I wouldn't break the rules, you know that.
It would be hypocritical, and I would think the worse of myself for indulging in such shabby behaviour.
I've already got matching leathers, as you well know. The top half is black, and so is the bottom half, mind you, so is my fairing on the yellow VTR.
Re the race shift, it was just too much work to have to think before each shift, as I have a commuter with road shift as well, and sooner or later I'm going to get it wrong.

the last thing you'd need is getting the wrong gear on greasy winter roads......

Why wait til spring? they're made for riding, mate.
I'll be out on it most weekends if it's not too mucky or icy.

We just had one of the nicest Spring weekends, temps around 20 and low humidity. After I had completed "domestic duties" (painting a house) I was released for a lovely ride up the Awhitu peninsula. The picture above shows the south head of the Manukau harbour, and also the generally agreeable scenery, weather and bike!
(Just showing off, really).

Started seriously taking things to bits now. So much to do!!!! Hidden bits of muck and corrosion. Dodgy fixings. Where to start?
Wheels off first I think, off to the powder coaters (gloss black). Can anyone suggest a supplier for GOOD QUALITY wheel bearings and seals?
Then, swingarm linkage. Might as well get the bearings and seals all at the same time.
Check the starter motor. Then CCTs and clearances.
I'm slow so this may take some time.

just going out for a gentleish ride as a new tyre on and leaves everywhere. To good to stay in though.

Oil change and filter, normally don't leave it this long, approx 5,000k's.
Sync he'd the carbs and did the idle drop and mixtures.
Much less vibration now.
Went for a short ride and bike performs at all revs well now.
Gets a bit light in the front end under hard acceleration , the billet stacks certainly make a difference in the mid range. Starting to remind me of the long departed 07 Tuono now!

Take all the bearings out, trying not to destroy them in the process, take them & the seals to your local BEARING FACTORS..look it up there will be one somewhere...I use Kent bearings on the Medway city estate...

Well i did about 92 miles today, bit squirmy in some very wet and leafy places but the tyre seems great so far its a Bridgestone 014.
It was great to get out. I went to Loomie for lunch and there was about 100 bikes there today, good turn out and about 9 Greenlaners covered in shite. Great to hear some strokers there too.

Earlier in the week I found that the brake pad pins on my CBF600 commuter had not only seized in but the PO had rounded out the hex sockets....Both sides.
So yesterday I couldn't ride it on the Police London Bikesafe day I'd booked.
I had to take the SP2.
It was not the right tool for the job, as we spent all day riding around in heavy rain, on 30 limits roads and tiny rural lanes covered in wet leaves, with me trying to use the mirrors to read his indicators as to which way I was meant to be going, on my second ride on that bike.
Hmmmm.
Anyroad, it went alright, but I wasn't amused that in order to maximise visibility round corners, I had to keep drifting from one set of car tyre tracks through the line of wet leaves to the other tyre track.....
And those with Storms can be grateful that they have a nice smooth throttle transition- bloody fuel Injection is good for power but fairly shite at being smooth.
If the SP2 is an improvement on the Sp1 for fuelling, they must be a real handful round town. Dunno, never ridden one round town.
So today I looked at the brakes on the CBF6, and despite a couple of hours of trying the pins wouldn't shift, and so I had to resort to drilling them out. I thought I'd have to order new ones and wait for them to arrive, but they're the same as the pin in the Storm rear, so I dug through my brake spares and found some in good nick- they're in, all bled, and lever cable tied back overnight to get a bit of pressure into the system.
That's enough bike work for this weekend, I aim to snooze the evening away staring vaguely in the direction of the telly, might even turn it on at some stage

Broken undertray off and short circuiting alarm removed. Replacement undertray can't go on as the rear subframe has more rust on it than I can reasonably ignore.

You had a poor instructor. A lot of basic "Roadcraft" is about visibility lines but we were taught to never sacrifice safety for visibility. It's often safer to take a sharp and narrow country lane left hander in the left hand track. You may need to go slower than you would like but criss-crossing piles of crap in the middle of your lane aint always the sensible way to do things (and will get you down-graded on a Rospa test).
I did a couple of training runs on my old R6. Light switch clutch and no torque at low revs made me pine for the Storm.
