the insurance company dont know about the after market parts. i think i mentioned to one department that asked what was damaged that i had just put some different exhausts on but didnt state what they were so it could just have been new standard cans..

also my pazzo levers and just put on oxford hot grips. if it gets scrapped i can say good bye to that lot...
unless i speak to the garage thats dealing with it and ask for them to be sent back to me.. if they will do that.

Would recommend remove all items not known, put originals back on, may invalidate the u no what as they can get very funny on these issues(get out clause in all policies) :x advantage sell the bits

Sorry about the crash. Snap with the sore hand, guess having proper kit does work :D as has been said i hope the throw the book at her and ban her from the road for a while. Hope you get the bike sorted soon.

Got to be the worst type of person that flees the scene of an accident, bet she was drunk. Hope all turns out ok and in the end you have a minter Storm to make up for it.

Sorry to hear about the incident Chuxsta but glad too hear you're OK, that's the main thing :D As other's have said it does look a bit like the driver had something to hide by disappearing like that.

Good luck in getting it all sorted out :!:

If they decide to scrap it you should be allowed to remove bits from it, as long as you don't take half the bike!

Last year when my mate Tiny got taken out, he sent a mate to remove a few after market bits from bike while in compound.

Might depend a bit on ins co though.

Unfortunately he never left hospital to be able to put them on a replacement! :x

1 year tomorrow! :(

this is turning out to be a F**king nightmare,,,,

they cant find the driver, although the officer said they are following up a few possiblities this evening and wil let me know the outcome.

they found out the vehicle is taxed, but the last registered owner is no longer the owner. thats about it.

since finding that out, i cant get a hire bike obviously as there is no one to foot the bill,
the repair company said they can collect my bike but in cases such as this the bike will be with them for up to and maybe over 8 weeks.
and all repairs will be off my insurance,
the MIB pool of cash is only for personal injuries to any one in my situation where the 3rd party has no insurance and people without fully comp insurance. people with 3rd party only and F&T can use the MIB pool of cash to get their bike back on the road.
so going fully comp aint all that, yeah it has major advantages but just bloody typical the first time i go fully comp EVER IN MY LIFE im WORSE FU**ing off....... go figure....

i could probably fix my bike myself in about 3 or 4 days.
as its only cosmetic damage. i have 2 replacement side panels awaiting respray, was going to buy new indicators any way cause i hate the stock ones, have just got some harris rearsets so the bent foot rest hanger dont matter, but i shouldnt have to......

if you cannot tell im a tad   :x :( at the moment.

there was me getting all excited at how insurance companies have changed over the past 10 years when all thats happend is they have got worse and actually do less for our money...

That's a real sh1tter mate!

Hopefully they'll find the car and it's new owner and take all necessary action to throw the book at her! Just need her to pass an ANPR if they flag it as wanted!

Keep your eye's peeled too, you never know the incident spot maybe somewhere she passes regularly!

Best of British with it, keep us posted!

that sucks, hope he is getting better, i have already spoke with the nominated repair people and if it is scrapped by the choice of the insurance company i wont get any thing back off it unless i buy the whole thing off them
such as the brand new tyres etc...

sadly not I believe, chux :(

and I somehow doubt that car is still being driven by that woman. it may have been a local scum community's 'pool' car and has probably been scrapped or burned out by now

Yep, unfortunately Deano's right.

Last Tuesday was anniversary of the bump, tomorrow is a year since he was going to be released but unfortunately suffered thrombosis in leg which killed him.

I'll be having a few refreshments to honour his passing, as will many of his friends.

Anyhoo - good luck with it Chux - just glad you are OK.
