I like the fairing styling-it always reminds me of a nicer looking VFR with better angles. Very proportional and well finished. Well sized as a V2 should be imo.
The TL was huge, but the engine made up for that
Some of the new stuff is horrible. I really don't like the new ZX10R tbh.

49 lookiing at 50.
The VTR1000 was the first step back riding after a long break. The torque is great, not having to constantly row through gears around town. Aside from the crap stock suspension the bike is a blast to ride, especially with -1 on the front. The suspension's easy to fix for relatively short money.
It's easy to get caught up in the HP race if you take a ride on one of the new 1K sport bikes. You can't help but fall for that top end rush. The problem is, after having rung it's neck on the highway, most rational people come to understand there are few places to run the bike at 180mph for very long. That supposes you hold onto your license.
For me the path seemed to be find a fun bike at a reasonable cost (buy, insure, operate) that had a passionate following. A few Ducati's and Aprilia's Tuono have it though the entry fee and maintenance costs were too high. I was lucky enough to spend time following a couple sites catering to this bike. I bought the SH with some resrevations but have since come to remember that I had just as much fun carving a perfect turn (to me anyway) at 30-50 mph as hitting ludicrous speed on the highway. Like others I looked at the sv650 and may buy one as a track bike. For the street, I'm enjoying the Superhawk, despite its faults, or maybe because of them. I never get off the bike w/o a smile.

I'm 52..................er 53 actually..............I think...................well thats the memory going................now. what was the question.
Getting old.............at first you forget peoples names,
then you forget their faces,
then when you go for a slash, you forget to pull the zip up,
then when you go to the toilet....................you forget to pull the zip down.

Would love to buck the Firestorm demographic, but no, I'm bang in there at 43. Whenever I pull in at a bikers' teastop these days it always seems to be old geezers rather than young bloods. They're probably thinking the same about me.
