Sorry to hear about your plight. I see some great advice from the guys, as per..Why don't you make it to work n back until you really can't ride it any longer because of bad weather.Put it away for the winter, pimp it up, clean & polish it to within an inch if its life (very theraputic) and book yourself on an AIM course in the spring. It will give your confidence back and show you a whole new style of riding. Things will feel much better after you have done it and you'll wonder why you ever considered selling! 8O 8O 8O

I sincerely hope you carry on next Spring and fully understand your doubts/thoughts/sentiments etc but if we worried about everything on the road, we'd never get anywhere. luckily i've never had an 'off' nor do I wish to, but I have had the 'crash for cash' guys on the M'way nr B'ham through the roadworks trying to get me to bang into the back of them through slow moving 10 mile bloody trails of traffic when I was filtering, and I know that this is what they were doing as they kept building up a healthy gap between them and the car in front then putting on the brakes..They couldn't swing into other lanes to make me crash into them as they hadn't the room, but they had a good go! I had just read about those scams in the Daily mail the week before and couldn't believe it...I got ahead of them, moved off to the left and they left the M'way at the next junction..Prob caused a crash at the next junction! :x :x :x

It didn't put me off though as I love riding my bike but I would probably be a bit hesitant if I had of had an accident. Dave is still suffering from a head on smash with that idiot biker when he was in the car, and I've noticed, every time we ride past the spot, he slows down a teeny bit, so it has obviously sits in the back of his mind. I think if we didn't hesitate, didn't have that gut instinct/didn't read the road ahead, we'd all be gone. But we do, we carry on, because we won't let the B^%t*rds grind us down!

I hope this helps a little

Take the bull by the horns, do the course and you'll feel so much better..

And I have come off again - it's now 3 times since March. This time I was sat at the edge of a box junction waiting for traffic ahead to clear (in other words doing everything correctly). A lady is pulling out of the side road and turning right. She pulls out further and enters the box junction, eyes looking left she continues to edge forward. She then turns the wheel full lock as the ongoing traffic clears and accelerates hard. Trouble is, she hasn't once looked right and she drives straight into me - unbelievable, I fall off and nearly £1,000 worth of damage.
I don't have to be even riding the thing to have an accident, just sitting on it is enough, what a year!
The good news is that both she and her insurance company have accepted full liability (even minus witnesses), but I have decided to buy a house in Helmand Province, where it is decidely safer.
My next post will be about motorcycling in Helmand.

Thanks again for all your lovely messages and ABB glad to hear Dave is on the mend.

Once bike is fixed, I'll be riding again.

fook m8 you're not having much luck are you :/
shocking.
hope you get a good settlement out of it.
maybe you should play on the psychological angle as well & the fact you don't feel safe on the roads now after this...
hope it all turns out ok bud :?
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.
