the annoying thing is, most of them are probably tossers who dont like to see anything go for less than the going rate so they can resell and make 50 fkin p
spoils the idea of ebay imo and is even more annoying when you've waited for an auction to end and not bid on a similar item because you've been the highest bidder all day.

the number of times i've been mailed back with a 'second chance offer' cos the wonker with the auto bid software didn't pay up/

all i do now is contact the seller and offer a buy now price, usually to collect and save ebay fees. if they dont want to deal i dont bother.
i know what i am prepared to pay for an item and would rather pay my highest bid than have my time wasted.
yes i know there are other auction sites but they are even shitter and nobody sells anything decent on them.

I have never used them myself, and have lost out at the last minute on various items but try to take a phylosophical view, it wasn't meant to be However the urge to kick someone square in the nadgers is always very strong
I know there are other sites but have never found anything to match E bay for parts availability. I went to Newark autojumble on Sunday. Walked around for three hours (in beautiful weather) but only bought tools & generic bits. Nothing for my bikes. E bay still offers the greatest choice although the pickings are getting thinner and sellers expectations have increased.

With over 4 yrs buying and selling I thought fook it why should I miss out! Hence the question, funnily enough the two items i was sniping tonight went for well beyond my highest snipe bid so whats the problem? You should mellow out a bit B+H, you might end up with chilli quill piles

Well using auction sniper so far, lost out on 3 out of 4 auctions but won a Dianese back protector for £3.89 Some you win some you lose I like the way you dont have to hang around at the time of the auction end, plus you are not there to up the bid and get carried away at the exciting bit

You have to watch the spelling on listings; quite often a simple miss-spelling means that few people see the item, and it goes cheap.

I never used to use a sniper and shared some of the more negative views in this thread to their usage, having lost out on a few things in the last seconds. What changed my attitude was having registered my high bid early on an auction that finished while I was at work, someone (possibly the seller on a second account) proceeded to bid up to my maximum and cancelled their last bid, which meant I ended up paying my high bid instead of snagging a bargain. Ok, I'd bid what I was willing to pay for the item but it's still a kick in the teeth when you don't get a bargain.

I now use AuctionStealer to fire in a snipe in the dying seconds. The pair of Akrapovic cans in the corner of my lounge are proof that it works nicely

But £3699 for the cans wasnt a bargain.................

All I can now say after snagging three bargains is it works for me I hope for my sake that no one else bothers to sign up for their software
