If you have standard exhausts on your bike now and then you fit race cans you will have to reject the carbs and get it set up on the dyno

dynojet kit or similar, the jets sit in the carbs and its worth doing especially when you fit race cans.

there was a dynojet kit on ebay for £20 yesterday then you gotta pay for fitting and dyno time, so not much change outta a couple of hundred quid fella...

Not so fast.....
Sure, if you fit race cans and a K+N filter or similar you really ought to get the jetting done, but with cans only and a standard air filter it'll run a little lean.
Not ideal, and it won't release all of the extra horses, but it certainly won't damage the engine, or cause any problems.
So cans only will be fine. You will certainly benefit from the loverly noise!
And a bit more power, one or two BHP.
You also lose some weight, and get less vibes through the footpegs.
So go for it, in my opinion.
When you are able to afford it and justify the cost, then a dynojet or Factory Pro jetting kit and a bit of dyno time will make a difference, though.
However, for me, those coloured cans look, well,, erm, a bit, er..........how can I put this.........
Stick to classic black carbon or shiny metal.
Just my opinion, don't go suing me, now.

+1 on all tonys comments.
If £ is tight, you can cut the baffles out of the stock ones and liberate the V2 noise. Either search on here for bafflectomy, or you can make me an offer on a set I modified but no longer use.
They look totally standard, are spotless but make a great noise. ... I used these for last 6yrs, as my original micron race cans were just too noisy. But I have gone back to race cans now but with dB killers fitted.

i have old style art cans which have not for road use on them.they are low cans(chrome finish) on red firestorm and everyone can here me coming even sets some car alarms off.god i love that sound deep and throaty.And before anyone says any jokes i'm married ;)
