they need to be the downdraught ones, not sidedraught, gixxer ones are all sidedraught. the only bike with downdraught 41 FCR's as standard was the ZX7RR homologation special. the evo-blade (100th anniv TT blade costing £23k) did too, but honda only built 100.
R1's take aftermarket downdraught 41's, as do 'blades.

the only gixxers to have flatslides as standard were the '85-'86 750 slabbies. they had 29mm flatslides, which are in demand for classic racing as the spacing is the same for GS's and Zed's. you need to offcentre bore the bodies to 33mm. i've bought a few sets, bored them up and sold them on in the past.

there is a set of 41mm fcr carbs on pbforum for sale they fit a cbr900rr blade

Best reason for changing is when used for racing.They can be set up without an air box where as vac carbs are difficult.Most teams have stuck to the standard but rejetted carbs and modded air box so I guess they must be pretty good.
