they said id lost the right to the course as i had been summonsed to court :confused
and was nothing to do with them and id have to pursue drivesafe for a refund... which i will never see.

and whats more, because i accepted the course, i was not offered a £60 fixed penalty and ended up paying double that with costs.

Good news

Post by gilson »

Last Saturday I did a speed awareness course for getting caught at 58 in a 50 by a static camera that I pass every day.

Fair cop, can't complain.

The speed awareness course was very good. I learnt some Interesting things. The most significant thing I learnt was that if you seriously injure or kill someone when you are either speeding or not "in control", be it on a hands free, drinking coffee or shouting at your kids, expect a custodial punishment. Not to mention living with the agony of hurting or killing someone.

If my son or daughter was killed by a speeding driver or biker come to that, I'd want them destroyed. I hope I could find it within myself to forgive them, but I doubt it. To see anyone celebrating "getting away with" with a fine and some points would make me want to and enjoy doing time for a serious crime. I couldn't live with hurting someone by being reckless so I promised myself to try and be more aware, concentrate on driving and realise how easy it is to kill someone with a car even travelling at a little over jogging pace.

No lecture, no judgment just reality an if you are offered the course, it's not a bad way to spend a few hours. I appreciate the approach of education over punishment and I think it's worked for me.

Thanks to someone in government actually listening and making sense.
No bike (yet).

BEWARE!!!!!

when you get an invitation to HM Local Courts ,it is purely an exercise to extract monies from Joe public.

they aint going to listen to any of your explanation,s ,unless you are one of the so called proffessionals,

the more proffessionals you can afford ,the more justice you will receive. :Argue:

you wonder why highly paid footballers get off with speeding above the Ton.

Barristers available from£1500 hour plus expenses.

The odds are well stacked ,but not in your favour.

Enjoy ya ridin safely boys n girls n buy a speed camera detector
