Well I do have to question this statement.... So when you bolt it to the lower linkage (which is closer to 3:1 not 2:1) the ride height of both bike should be the same.
I can't see how adding length to one end or the other will make a difference. In the end you have a shock the is Xmm longer which should give you the same result in the end IMHO.
