Sorry to hear about your loss mate, as mentioned keep an eye on the bay, but I feel Gumtree is an easier gateway for these thieves to sell parts through these days. Less restrictions in the Gumtree format, not as many pics if any, less Paypal and more cash in hand stuff, you get more meet you's outside my (so called) work to do deals.

You seem to have the right frame of mind and keeping your spirits up and being pro active in helping the Police  in the search.

Any non standard parts, addons you can remember of, just post up for us. I see it has a yellow screen. I shall keep my eye out like I do for all storms especially Black with yellow decals because I have one.

Thanks Carl. I have listed all the mods in the first post, it was a pretty standard bike.

Kev, I wonder about putting the stolen posters up, it may scare them and it'll disappear. but i suppose the chances of me being in the right place at the right time to bump into my bike are slim to none. Even with the close proximity to my home.

I think the crack in the r/h mirror is the giveaway, and the cut down rear no plate holder.
You know if i spot it i'll know its mine from a mile off.

With it being a 'storm, I'd flyer all the local petrol stations.

You never know, they might have seen it, and if they have it'll be on CCTV... and with luck the little sod will have removed his lid.

Well there aren't that many 'storms about, even less black ones, so even if they call you for every black storm they see, you should be able to spot yours from the cans etc.

Having said that, most professionally stolen bikes are put into the backs of vans.

Feel for you mate.

But the cut down rear undertray/number plate holder is a common mod, best not go round and tear the head off the first ebayer you see selling one....

It's certainly made me think how I would spot mine.

There are obviously little marks and things which would help you recognize your own bike, but how would you explain and prove this to the old bill (assuming they could be bothered to get off their arses). So I shall be going round my bike with the camera tonight taking pictures of every chip, scratch, stone-chip and blemish.

That's very prudent of you, but you bring up something most of us overlook.

i tend to see a few black storms knocking around, i think black is always a popular colour for bikes, but did i spot it has a yellow screen????
now if a yellow screen was to come up on ebay from roughly the same area. my advice would be to buy it and pay for it, the chances of pick up in person would be 0%, so get it posted to yourself, firstly hope that theres a return address on the parcel, or secondly try contacting the seller saying its damaged or something like that, and that you need to post it back to them, you never know....
this happened to my cousin, he went to visit a friend in buckhurst hill, and he had his rear spoiler of his fiesta st150 ripped off. low and behold there it was along with a couple more, and the seller lived in the same area, the police and ebay weren't interest either
anyways good luck and fingers crossed mate

Make sure you notify datatag of the theft too.

When mine was nicked i had the baffles in the shed so kept one ear open for the sound. I swear that the night after it went I heard it about 3 in the morning go past our road end, shot out of bed and out in the car up to the local scrag estate.
Never saw it but thats where it was found.

Shooting is too quick... I propose a similar treatment to the one they gave horse thieves in the wild rest. Tethered between 4 'storms heading to different compass points.

No slap of the butt required!

sh1t man - feel for you. Had a GPz900 nicked from inside a garage with a car parked in front of it and anchored to the ground, and still remember that feeling.

BSM - good call, although I've often ignored the postal stuff on ebay and insisted on collection to "save on the postage".

Will keep my eyes and ears open round these parts for you.

I'm having no luck with bike shopping now....
Makes me feel sick, physically sick. Surely I should enjoy buying a new steed.

ccm 604e supermoto. good fun but not fast enough

triumph daytona 955i, liked it but doesn't feel like its bolted together properly

Any suggestions? excluding the obvious. I'm still hoping my storm will materialise.
