I have a Harley and a Firestorm, wouldnt part with either.

Sorry dont mean to be snobby, I have had loads of cruisers in the past and to be honest the Japanesse cruisers just doesnt stir my soul like a Harley does, or wind me up and break down ( it isn't that bad ) .

I just done the Rally at mersea island, Condom rally.
I know what you mean....there is something about Harley's that the Japs will never match (soul/character?) but finances are somewhat limited hence the 650 jap rather than the 1200/1340 Harley I would have preferred. It's on the list for when I hit 50 :D
Case of making do at the moment and I will either get the cruiser itch out of my system without spending a fortune, or I'll be ready to commit more £ to something bigger.

Saying that....I'm already pricing up new risers, bars, pegs, grips etc

I bought a Moto Guzzi earlier this year so I know what you mean about soul/character. It's raw and noisy and feels like a bike should feel.

I love the Storm and will keep it for as long as possible but I doubt I'll ever buy another Jap bike. Couldn't really explain why, they just seem so reliable and dependable to the point they are almost boring. Probably the same comparing an Italian car to a Japanese one, sometimes reliable and functional takes a backseat to fun and, well, unpredictable.
