i have been bad and done some work on it
replaced the rear wheel bearings and sprocket carrier bearing .
put oil in the forks and fixed the rear shock .
and made a new wiring loom .
still to do before we get it running is to replace the carb with a new one £30
then once its up and running we will strip it down and rebuild it like this

.
Hope to have it done for his birthday in may as that's when he's getting the helmet and riding gear :-)

He looks the picture of happiness at Christmas, great stuff.
You see some of you guys on here could take a leaf out of his book, blue bike, blue top = Happy chappy. Only those nasty trousers would bring both his speed and mood down!!!

when he opened his tool box he was over the moon

.
but when i took him into the garage he was like this

.
i never had one as a child either and always wanted one , i to had to wait till i was working to get my own despite my parents and grand dads having bikes in there life's.
it was only when i went to my cousins house in summer when my mum wasn't looking did i get to have a go on one of my cousins .
i hope my son will progress on to road bikes one day as he will be the 4th generation
of bikers in my family .
but until then dirt bikes will teach him things i haven't learnt yet
