red is slightly faster than teal  .

make sure its been serviced and has good consumables on it .

plan to give it a service anyway tho .
the fork oil wont have been changed form new unless the owner is a good one .

a good test ride will highlight and issues that it might have .

Remind me to slap you upside your head when we meet young pup!! Blue is the quickest colour, the list then descends from there.

It will have to be serviced and MOT'd anyway, my Dad's gonna insure himself on it and ride it home sometime after we buy it as he'll get the train down there. But then it'll be him and my brother using it occasionally, with my permission :D, until I can afford to insure myself on it in October. By which time tax and MOT will be gone anyway, and I'll have had plenty of time to mod it to my hearts/wallets desire :)

Oh damnit. Oh well, atleast my restrictor won't upset the delicate balance that exists on the bike then. I wish I could claim that was abusing a minor, but alas.. no more:(

Tires if original with that milage will also need changing as the air in 'em will have gone stale, and any hibernating hamsters that have have crept into the airbox will need hoovering out.
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

I was gonna change the tires to ones I'm more comfortable with, can't remember which one but I'm gonna stick it on Pirelli Diablo's as they're what I currently use and they're just incredible! I was also looking at the K&N Air Filters that you just stick in the washing machine and last forever, my brother has one, and was thinking of doing that if I could afford it

The Red one is defo the better of the two from the ad's and pic/pics. It's a fair price considering the mileage and it looks mint and untouched with the exception of rack and oiler. That bike is pretty much at it's top price for any time of year. Maybe you can get them to knock £100 -£150 of for cash, give them a bit of blurb like you need to get the CCT's replaced and any other bits you can nit pic to use as a bargaining tool. I doubt either the CCT's have been touched or the R/R, especially with such low mileage.

As far as the SP fairing/headlight conversion goes. It's possible to do but expensive and a lot of work/modding. IIRC There's someone or a company on the OZ forum that was customising VTR's with this and selling them at a riddiculaous price. SP fairing are not cheap :eek2 The wiring is the easy bit. Don't forget with twin lights only one can be on dipped for MOT so probably not as good visually as in being able to see. Stupid law that, I never have understood the concept behind having only one dipped light. If you just want the look of twin headlights, why not do as Kev L done and put a headlight protector on and paint a dividing line down the middle.

then you would have money for more useful things like upgrading the suspension as Lloydie said

£100-£150 off the price is similiar to what I was thinking of trying to take off :)
I saw the OZ forum post, but they were charging up to $14,700 or something for fairly used models.. Which is more than an SP or a storm brand new :!:

That's an interesting idea actually, looks really nice :) Might go with that instead, in all honesty. It removes the blocky feel I don't like but doesn't require more effort than it's actually worth :L Wasn't the post-01 model fitted with slightly upgraded suspension anyway, as many riders complained? That's what MCN says, but apparently some people don't trust it as much as I do :L

Be careful with the K&N idea mate the VTR needs jetting to suit.

Okay, I'm just worried if I go in too low and there's a drastic difference between mine and their offer I'm gonna look like a right prick when I go, "yeah, all right"

K&N in the washing machine    Best place for them :)

The only reason Blue is fastest is because Kev has been taking his medication which makes things appear faster. :biggrin

As for the later model. Larger tank with Honda wing decals, HISS ignition, Black brake callipers, upgraded dash with the digital fuel gauge etc, Upgraded front suspension (valves I think, not springs), 10 degree higher rise clip ons in Black, Apparently some carb mods but I'm not sure what, possibly just 48 pilot jets. Oh and the PAIR system (eco friendly emissions crap) which is why they have slightly less power  Umm I think that is about it.

Yes any air filter changes will require carb re-jetting and tuning in. Your best to keep the original filter.
