Ah I know your problem, its simple, you have purchased the rare but not unknown VTR175, these were marked up in error at the India factory as VTR 1000's. So dont worry the performance is normal.

The storm will never FEEL fast, the flat torque curve gives the opposite impression, but the speedo will tell you otherwise.
As others have said, your blade will accelerate close tothe same rate or faster, it just has its power a bit higher up and you have to learn to change your style a bit.
If you want fast acceleration for an overtake, you will still need to drop a gear,or even 2 if you are in a hurry, but if you are crushing you should be riding the wave of torque.
A fast action throttle is a good mod, it makes the engine much more responsive, but now I find I have the throttle on the stop and I still want more acceleration!!
As for wheelies,these are best done at about 4000 rpm. I still prefer 2nd gear and although i do roll off to use the suspension, I pop the clutch to get them started.
