When i had my 2000 model i fitted k&n and dynojet kit, bike ran spot on, dynoed it just to check and it didn't need anything else doing, also ran a std filter with all the paper removed and still didn't need to alter the d/j jetting, made nearly another 2hp with that filter (used only on track like that).

There one in Latvia here. No tax from EU. It doesn't say if it's the street or race version though,

Nice find Mr Carl. Just bought it. Was the road one, and I was going to put a new'un in soon anyway, so I''ll have a pop. Aint going down the dyno time route, so if it doesnt work with my settings it might end up for sale. Fingers crossed.

Damn this modding !!!!!!!!

  You have been converted.

That just makes no logical sense :confused So you basically ran no filter. Didn't the extra air upset you A/F ratio then.

It's possible that with the K&N it was slighly rich (was ok on fuel though) then with the modded std filter it would be slightly lean, it was along time ago and i don't remember what the A/F was, but i do know it wasn't an issue.
I fitted the d/j kit, including drilling the slides (can't remember if the kit had springs though) I used the middle jets supplied which was for after market pipe and filter. with the paper out of the std filter it's a gauze in the std plate, I never touched the carbs when swapping between K&N and the gauze filters. It ran perfectly on the road, and on the track In two meetings I won 5 races and got a race speed record for the class at Lydden... which i still hold :biggrin

Let me know how you get on with this as I have a 2000 firestorm with fuel rear cans and I have bought a pipercross filter and I'm looking at getting it dyno-jetted . If anyone can recommend and decent tuners in the surrey/hants area that would be great as well :D

I got a pipercross fitted mate, took my carbs off soooooooooooooooooooooooooo many times, got it very fine tuned, actually drilled the 3rd lift hole and then fitted a flo-commander. runs sweet now  but had to take everything off so many times to make adjustments. I still need to get it on a dyno and will probably find out I need to make an adjustment on my needles, just because that is sods law

Lighten the flywheel too after putting a 43 tooth sprocket on the back. Cheap mods, huge smiles.
