Maybe I didn't make it quite as clear as you Tony :roll:

The rubbers are not blocking the pipes to the carbs hence the reason they are not solid blocks and are hollow. They are rubber caps that block the pressurised air in the rest of the airbox from getting to the one side of carb diaphragm.

You have atmospheric air on one side of the diaphragm and pressurised air on the other side via the carb throat.

Unless you do as I have and blank off the airbox inlet, removing the corners, plating across them, so increasing airbox volume, and then placing small foam caps on each diaphragm exhaust pipe....

Don't expect another 20Bhp, though, it's part of much bigger work. On its own it won't make any difference you can notice.
