Too late. It was a combination of Scubadog and 7moore that gave me the idea in the first place.

yee har, another American guest, welcome aboard. loads of work gone into that bike
that thermos flask must be handy for soup / coffee etc?

Dat der's a spit can fer me dip. I can just tow it along and remove it for when I have to mingle with civil folk.
It's a coolant overflow tank. The way I have the hoses routed under the carbs it was easier to make an external one rather than try to fit one in betwixed the frame.
