should be more specific and say that it should be a low strength thread lock that can be undone, not one of the high strength studlocks

Sick a smear of copper slip on the back of the pads where they sit on the pistons. Just a smear, not a lot, and you can put some on the pad pin threads and any other little bits that have a habit of seizing in place like a cap over the pins. But the main calliper mounting bolts need to be nice and tight so a little threadlock wont do any harm.

As you have removed hoses then you have also removed the banjos and copper washers. Heat the Copper washers up before refitting them to re-Anneal them.

Don't put copper slip on the banjos.

I got to say I am a little concerned with you doing your brakes if you are unsure with what your doing. So please if your not happy with things get flatty or someone around to give them the once over. You will more than likely need a hand with the bleeding anyway. It's always easier with two.

Well, I know what I am doing with changing the pads and fluid. Done that a few times now. Never taken the calipers to bits though until yesterday. Was actually easier than I thought.

I didn't put copper slip anywhere near the banjos, or anywhere that has fluid, wouldn't want the grease mixed with the fluid anyway. I put copper slip on the back of the pads/heat shields, on the 4 pad pins and on the mounting bolts. I did tighten the mounting bolts very tight though. Ill ride it a bit and then check them to make sure they aren't coming loose.

I know brakes are the one thing you don't want to go wrong, and I don't know for sure what I am doing but ill never learn if I just give up and take it in to the shop for someone else to do every time.

I didn't realise that the washers would need to be annealed, never done that with my sump washer and it's never leaked, but ill take them out and do that, since I have not put any fluid in the system yet. Thanks for the tip. The washers are ali though so going to have to be careful not to melt them.
