What a bike, the 690.
Got on it moving out of Loughborough. First impressions exhaust too quiet and very vibey but lightweight and easy steering. Felt a little flat at first. Got to the A6006 to Asfordby and oh holy mother! No single deserves to pull like Charlie Sheen at a virgins' disco!
No wind protection whatsoever and at 70 mph (!) need strong neck muscles.
Great handling, on bumpy corners can feel the forks moving, but would say on a sportsbike, even a storm, would be pogo ing around.
Great brakes. Is it worth the price of 5 firestorms I ask myself...?
The first guy at Redline was trying to up sell a 990 super duke but I explained have the storm and a vfr so why have another 'v'?
The 690 would be a better b road bike than virtually any bike out there yet returning 60+ mpg and bit more of a license preserver to boot..
Oh, and even though the fuel tank is the same usable size as an early vtr (14l) this thing can actually do over 150.miles to reserve!!

Yes I can not express how well it handles, the feedback from the road is brilliant. The engine is sweet. I have an O2 sensor mod box fitted and a SP Engineering can and decat pipe, sounds awesome - bwarrrrp bwarrrp
Economy is great too, will do about 70mpg, I think Ride magazine have it as there 2nd most economical bike theyve ever tested.
