darkember wrote:Cool pete thanks for the heads up. Basically I will be running the Power socket and the USB on 2 separate 2.5 mm wires from the switched side of the relay. The switched power will be supplied from the lighting circuit which is already fused again on 2.5mm wire. The accessories are both 1000ma therefore 1 amp each. I know 2.5 is a little heavy for this application but I have a perfect bit of 3 core 2.5 that keeps it all nice and tidy.
Sounds like a plan, it should work well :thumbup:
Tony and Stu both have some good points too.
Before you dive straight in. Halfords have all sorts of cigarette lighter sockets, some doubles, some are even in banks of 4 if you fancy lighting a Christmas tree too :wink:
A nice little double socket under the seat or some where might come in handy for all sorts. I've also used a phone sat nav (killing two birds with on charger so to speak) and there are plenty of phone holders and water proof casings and fittings about to make that quite a tidy job too. Provided your phones not like mine and still has a crank handle on the side :D
My new ride is a bit of a Howler and I love to make her Squeal

The eastern beaver kit comes with 4 fused power take offs, so you can run a DJ booth from it like Tony on our firestorm weekends. :)
That is exactly what I am going to do. I presume bazza that you are still powering the front side of the relay via the battery and an inline fuse.

Sounds like you have a plan.
The only trouble is, all these cables add weight...

Anyone fancy designing and building a CAN bus for a Storm?
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Yeh but I only weigh 11 stones so I don't think that is going to cause me an issue :lol: :lol:

Ok just to clarify. I now have all the bits to complete this and would like final words of wisdom on the connection to my relay.

Image

Above is the normally open relay i shall be using. I will be lowering the fuse to a 20 amp version when I do the job. Simply put I would like to verify the terminal connections as no instructions have come with the unit.

30 = ?
85 = ?
86 = ?
87 = ?

Please any electrical wizard out there what goes to each terminal

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
