Anyone got any pics please?
Here's a couple from vtrbob's bike a while back, using these risers and Ultra Low Renthal bars, he did the conversion without needing to trim the fairing. Do note though, you may require higher bars which will require trimming the fairing.

But even on my 20 minute commute i get the pins and needles on the VTR when the going is slow (not an issue when cruising).
I agree, lot of stretching exercises, at least twice a day, plus little training with powerball, makes wonders.

thanks for the heads up, but with all considered I think I might go for the varadero.

I love the v twin engine too much to swap to an st or a tiger and I really fancy doing some long mileage and a varadero will be much better suited to all the local roads and such and it would be handy to have a little bit of 'off roady' capability. (in that respect I bloody miss my old XR650 to bits :( )
Plus a Varadero is a lot more suited to sticking big ass paniers and a top box on.

don't really want to spoil the beaty of my VTR with such things :problem:

Put a deposit down on an 09 Varadero
Only got 12,000 miles on the clock, FSH and 1 owner. Full givi luggage and crash bars, heated grips, driving lamps etc.

Gave it a test ride and instantly fell in love.
It's so nice having such a netural riding position where I'm not constantly trying to hold myself up from slumping over the tank.

Just waiting for all the finance and sh1t and it will be getting delievered in a couple of weeks :D

Do the newer Honda V-twins still suffer the same CCT problems or am I alright just to put that out of my mind?

Can't wait now. Got some holiday I have to take off in July so am planning a bit of touring around Ireland

Much the same VTR engine in the Varadero so manual tensioners for peace of mind. R/R should be later finned version so it should be reliable (fit a mosfet R/R at your discretion). If yours is a FI instead of carbs then fuel pumps can go.

I've been pootling about on my new Transalp 650 and enjoying the armchair comfort and going 165 miles on £15 worth of petrol! Though I do imagine what it would perform like with the VTR engine in it...
