It is certainly capable of loads of miles. If looked after, which it will be, it'll last a life time. Hope you do get in with it mate. Still won't be as much fun in the corners as my bike though; )

top man, I look forward to having a ride, I haven't used linked brakes since 1999 when I had a new vfr800, never liked them for slow speed filtering. but when needed to lose speed quickly, they were more than up for the job....
very jealous of the hard luggage set up, I did own the racks for hard luggage on a storm, but they wouldn't fit with high level cans... :(

All joking aside, I look forward to seeing what changes you make to the Blackbird, I know you say it won't be as extreme as the VTR, but we've heard that one before

Good luck with it anyway

I loved my bird, but it had an annoying tendency to shake the bars at 40.
It also had some mad front tyre wear, everything was straight, laser checked. Some do, some don't, brilliant bike, over the bumpy b roads round here all was serene and silky, where the VTR would be feeling every bump, ending with aching wrists.
I may still buy another Bird as a 4th bike as it made a great high speed tourer.
