this bitch is fighting me every inch of the way.. only just discovered the spare jaws dont fit the dam thing

. so now i have to hunt out a set of internal jaws so i can do the type of work i do, so if anybody has any ff788 internal jaws kicking about for a 7" Pratt chuck let me know, the kinda of thing you find under every sofa these days lol..
it was bloody easier to build the bike than this goddam machine lol

so to end the story of the cave/lathe at last its going.
had a ballache getting the gearing sorted out as the speeds were to high. i also had to buy a new chuck, which meant i had to machine up a new faceplate

.
so heres the gears as i bought it
and after many changes heres the setup i ended up with.
and first job was making an imperial backplate for a 7.5inch chuck fit a metric 165mm chuck with different mounting holes and chuck mount
old one
new one made from the old one
and nice new chuck mounted and running nice and true
and trump towers all but finished. remind me never to go through this sh1t again ever lol
move along now nothing to see here.
