a restricted storm, good on ya,but wont it choke the engine ,cos i no 50bhp run ok on kits, like er5s,sv,bandits etc but around 100bhp dont run very well ??????????????????

,my x missus had a restricted sv650 ,but we found out later that the garage who restricted her ,give us the certificate to say it had been done ,when in fact there was not one in,and i no that they have been took out , when they have been done ,cos as long you have got that piece of paper who would no ,like they deristrict 50s,and she also got stopped by the law ,and when she took her documents in she wasnt even asked for the certificate ,even thou the 25kw restriction was on her licence

the laws a farce

yeh thats what i had heard ,just be careful it dont overchoke the engine, cos fuel consumption is going to be shite, and in the worse case scenario ,ruin the engine ,did the shop say it would run ok ,with the kit on

Just take the restricter out after a couple of months, no bugger will know.
MCN tested a restricted Blade. it still did 90mph plus.
All the restricters are is a couple of washers in between the inlet or outlet manifold and the engine to restrict air flow. It's just like us trying to run breathing through a straw.

howdy doody comander, nice motor mate its the same as mine
to be honest for the sake of 12 months i'd leave the restrictor on. god willing youl be fine and nothing nasty will happen but if it does and your insurers asses the bike and the restrictor is off youl be in a whole world of pain.
anyhoo good luck and ride safe

Nice effort! I wish I'd had one of these when I was 18... Probably for the best I didn't as I know exactly how long the restrictor would have stayed in for
(sorry off topic) Do you know where you can get the brackets for those rear foot pegs? I could really do with a set

I will run leaner with race cans

what a breath of fresh air your post is commander ,the reason being when i was your age everyone had bikes in their teens,

moving on to fast cars in their 20's

then the brats arive so sensible family cars for a bit
then when we hit 40 again just before grand children arive we have a window of opertunity so we get bikes again and the insurance is cheep finance is cheep , bikes are cheep, faster and easier to ride
my piont is i dont know anyone under 30 that has a big road bike (apart from kaz and her twinne) you are 18 for fu*k sake , fantastic .so i say good for you

restricted or not , well done bud

commander wrote:yeh really looking forward to it! as for the restriction.. well i wont be dissappointed in the performance because i havent ridden it unrestricted so it shouldnt be too bad..
here are some pics

Wow!
Had me starring at the screen real hard for a moment there Commander. I thought I was looking at my old bike for a bit.

.
Anyway, on the bright side. When you get to unrestrict that puppy it'll feel like entering another dimension power wise so unlike a load of others you'll feel like you've got another new bike come next March (if you wait that long

)
