Friend bought a guinea-pig for her littlies & was trying to let them pick a name, but with much suggestion & hinting...

"Well, he's black, isn't he? So what does that remind you of? He's very dark, like midnight. Midnight is very dark, don't you think?"

So that's how the little blighter came to be called "Dark"...

It depends kev if you want them for breeding,if there show qaulity for showing, for pet only,if there going out of the country or what there pedigree is like, if they have a qaulity blood line.

Breeders in London usually are more expensive than breeders in the north
and for this reason breeders in the north tend not to sell breeding siamese to the south!

Cat people are strange!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Onyx - cos it's black

Bastet - Egyptian deity, represented by cats ( could also be Lil' Bastet - similar enough to b8stard to shout at it when it craps in your shoe)

Isis - continuing egyptian theme, cats very important in egyptian mythology.

Bubo - as in bubonic plague aka Black Death.

Speedy - cos black is fastest

Gothmog - firstly, it has 'goth' in it as well as 'mog' as in moggy. Also the Balrog General of Sauron's army in Lord of the Rings. (the big flamey thing that attacks Gandalf on the bridge of Khazad Dhum)

Kage - japanese for 'shadow' also features in demonic and ninja type names like Onikage (shadow demon) Akakage (red shadow)

Chairman Miaow - David Badiel's cat, but coolest cat name I know.

I'm sure there's more, but I can't think just now.
