i did both. the swinger is vfr800 and when i put it on the sprockets where 10mm out of line. so 3mm were machined of the hub and a 6mm spacer in behind the f/sprocket and i'm danmed if i know were the other mm went ha ha. but i had to cut off the flange on the sprocket in order to get bolt back in.and ya gotta put some washers in behind the sprocket cover or the chain rubs. bringing the sprocket out that far means a few more mods. something to keep in mind

Yes i know it will rub i am going with a 7mm spacer at the front and dont need to touch the rear hub which will bring everything inline.
A freind who has done the same conversion has only had to use a 5 mm spacer at the front so there seems tobe some slight differences with each build
