Fitted my Scorpion pipes. unfortunately I was at work until 17.30 so it was dark by the time I finished. So the picture is a bit on the dark side, however better this than the inevitable -
so -
They fit really well and certainly make the bike sound more interesting, although not quite as booming as I thought. Still better that than pi**ing off the neighbours I suppose. This is the South after all!!!

Ah....
where did you get your nifty carbon fibre casing protectors from bud???
are they factory pro?
a mate dropped his kwak at weekend and scuffed the casings up a bit so i suggested he has a look for a set...
told him to look for carbon king car parts, but all he could find was a site about car bonking in car parks

I changed the R/H clip on today and now no longer have cruise control! Win! After just over a week since the scroats pushed her over my bike is now in full working order again. Even managed to get an oil and oil filter change done. Result!

Today I got my bits back from the sprayers and put it all back on the bike
All I need to do now is swap the screen for a smoked one. The iridium don't look too clever with the new paint.
I also cocked up whilst I was putting the fairing back together. The bolts from the inside of the fairing are a mix and match of non original ones so it was a bit of a guessing game as to what went where and I got it wrong with two of them and in an unthinking moment I over tightened them causing the plastic to bubble on both sides of the black nose bit and even worse than that, one of em split! What a stupid c**t! Why did I do that? ANyway, they are only small so it's either going to be covered by a sticker on each side or more likely a phone call to chips away and hopefully get it sorted over the weekend. Does anyone know if they work Saturdays?

Used it for work all week this week. Adjusted the chain and lubed up ready for next week! Serviced the XJ550 just needs a new chain and tyres now and it will be another 30 yr old bike on the road...

today i picked up another 2 50cc 4 stroke peds, one for free (cat B, 55 plate, 7k miles)
check out the front caliper - ABS brembo!!!
and another for a tenner - (cat D 58 plate, 8k miles)
the latter has a v5 doc but its totally fkt having been hit from the side by a car.
i only want it for a few spares so it was still a bargain.
then i plan to use the vin & v5 to put the cat b on the road ;)
also today i got an unrestricted cdi for the other one, a set of lighter rollers, a bigger oil pump and a 100cc big bore kit with big valve head & full gasket set.
oh and a 26mm carb with k&n turned up yesterday (instead of the std 15mm effort!)
i'm just about to remove the valves from the head & open the ports up to match the new manifolds....
should be a little flyer this!
the £10 one has the fuel tank under the seat so i'm going to graft that onto the other one with the rear tank so it's got a range of 250 miles+
getting a bit out of hand here now tho - i've now got 6 bikes lol

i've been fettling
this is from the other day when i got it running (excuse ltlle un & mrs arguing lol)

it was extremely lame and did not want to rev past about 2500rpm, wide open throttle, even with carb cleaned out, new plug etc...
so i fitted this
check this!! what a difference!

it was still a bit cold then & needs a bit of fine tuning like, and i need to use a cable with a different type of nipple on the end and find a proper manifold that fits, but you get the idea.
that's still 50cc btw/
cant wait to see what it's like with the 100cc kit, bigger valves & race cam!
need to figure how i can fit an oil cooler as well - it'll defo need one
also got the all the lights working and replaced the broken throttle housing & switchgear off the £10 donor ped.
next job is to port the new head to match the new manifolds.
it's an aircooled head so i can take out loads - plan is to taper them out to 22mm inlet & 19mm exhaust
got the valves out of it atm but i'll wait til tomorrow to get the grinder out cos it'll be a bit messy!
