was out with my mate stevie for a blast today

..sun was out, roads empty.and towards the end of the day im thinking yeah im getting this new baby sorted. getting her all wriggly outa corners..yoo da man Robert..
oooh wait a min

. maybe its not me riding like a GP god. maybe its the only thing i didnt change on the bike,, so thats what a rear wheel bearing heading south feels like.......
no damage and only took 4 hours to get the outer bearing race to come free from the disc side..
ahh well that fleeting moment when you think your riding like a god lol

Just back from taking the man dog for a extended walk !!.
It started with a walk to the field where we normally go however on the 2nd lap around I spot a small trail that I haven't seen before and I've been walking it here for years .
So feeling like a 10 year old with a sense of adventure and the possibility of stepping onto the unknown we went for it .
The trail was thick brush and over grown ,we just kept walking and walking .
We found some really nice clearings and I had to take a few snaps .

.
Now I looks at the time and realise we've been out for hours and I have no idea where I am and how to get back !!
Out comes google maps

feck I'm 10 miles away from home !.
Never knew we could go that far around here by the woods

.
I'm knackered now and need a nap
And no I didn't find a road and call a taxi to get home

Today i joined a rideout from rivington in lancs to our local hospital which is Chorley, albeit on the Blade.
The powers that be closed our 24hr a&e over 12 months ago in favour of a limited 'urgent care', run by a private provider.
Since then a hardy band of protestors have been at the hospital every saturday morning and 12 months ago the biking family arrived en mass to support them, and that is what we did again today.
With a ride past then a stop in front of the hospital with some noisy revving!!!, before parking up and joining the protestors.
As a result of the protests we have got a 12hr a&e, but we must get our 24hr service back . - its life or death!!!
Very humbling to see the tears in their eyes and to be so welcomed.
The biking family comes good again.

managed to get Glasto tickets in the resale this morning
well in truth, I didn't, but the network of helpers set up by the kids and their friends got a result, so the whole McQueen Clan will all be there again this year.
all that time and money invested in the kids is starting to pay off

having a 70 mile blast to a race track on the coast, not much better than having a coffee in the sun, watching bikes whizz round a track...

I charged my motobatt battery overnight. I'd actually temporarily stolen macs battery to get home from Grainstorm.
Plugged in this afternoon and stuck multimeter on. Good voltage. up above 14 but reg rec is earthed differently now so happy enough. Definitely believed it was holding charge so risked riding to work. Did about 28 miles including a detour. Now if that had been yesterday of not have been able to start her again once turned off.
Left her sitting at 1330. Went out five minutes to see if she'd fire up and she did straight away so the battery is still good!
Happy with that. Ran like a dream on the way to work too. Can enjoy it for a while now. Well two weeks before its parked up for a month.
