I did some late night spannering last night.
recently the bikes been running a tad lumpy at low speeds on constant throttle. tbh it's due a service. and it hasn't had a new air filter for a couple of years, add to that it's rather dusty over here. so I thought it best to check it over.
tank was rotated and rested on the rear subframe. found I had one airbox screw missing....
the airbox itself was clean with no build up of dust. but the filter is minging...
so hi flow filter ordered from the uk.
I've also got an oil filter on its way. and I bought 4ltrs of fuchs 4t 10w 40 semi from the Spanish version of Halfords for 29 euros, which I thought was rather reasonable.
I also fitted two new iridium sparkplugs. so now i'm just waiting on the parts before I can finish the service.
I've also noticed my chains starting to stretch. I've had it on for 12.000 miles, not sure if that's good or bad. I don't use a chain oiler. I just apply lube either before or after a ride.
once serviced I hope the bike runs a tad better.

New plugs, filter and oil. She'll run like a peach

I often get between 12-18k out of a chain so you're probably not far off

Got my vtr out fired up 3rd attempt been sat since 22nd March after my track day. Let it run for a few minutes got my kit on and off I went for MOT about 5 miles away. Passed MOT had a coffee there then went across the road and filled up. Started fine again so off I go for a ride did about 16 miles to a bike shop had another brew and butty. Bike started fine again so did about another 15 miles then went to pull out a junction I was in 2nd so stalled started again but not instantly seemed a little slow but was still only 1 press on starter. Get about 3 miles down the road slowing at the lights about to come to a halt and it cuts out won't start battery was flat. Had a nightmare phone was also dead waited about an hour deciding what to do and Luckily some guy comes over a mechanic long story short he goes and gets jump leads comes back and it starts and I get home fine only a few miles. So is my battery or RR knackered only replaced 2 years ago and upgraded blackbird finned RR. Or does my battery just need a good charge?

Dunno - best test the battery and charging system with a multimeter to track down cause of starting problem.
