Could be SP1 link pipes, that's often a problem.
People still sell them calling them VTR.....
With high levels you have to either lose the rear pillion peg footrests or space them out very widely, to run the link pipes behind them.
What was the problems you had?

I actually thought they might of come off of a SP1, but the guy who sold them to me ( a guy in work ), assures me they came off of his VTR1000 Firestorm, abotu 5 yrs ago.
Theres three bars all different lengths, two long ones and a short one, there is also 4 bolts and 4 spacers, which are obviously for the pillion pegs.
if you put the long bars behind the spacers to the frame the bolts seem too long, or I didnt want to force them.
The previous owner tells me that you need to put them on so that they are behind the fairing and you need to make a couple of holes in the under tray, and the small one connects to another bar, but then the holes in the small bar aint big enough to accomidate the friggin bolts with the bike.
To be honest me and my mate tried to fit them and we got really angry with it and put the originals back on, they just dont make any sense.
Later on I will make another thread and post pictures.

polished the wheels and a few other parts of the bike. then went for a little ride to my friend/mechanics house to discuss when we will be putting the finishing touches to the bike. looks like this weekend we will get the rear done, which i'm really looking forward to.
powder coated braced swingarm
polished sprocket carrier
41t supersprox rear sprocket
15t renthal front sprocket
polishing and cutting down an original front sprocket cover
fitting a slighty smaller numberplate
newly painted blade hugger also needs fitting
so lots to do, i might buy some new fuel lines and clips aswell......i think i need a metre of 8mm fuel line if i remember correctly.....

Looking good, I'm guessing the fuel filters won't restrict the fuel flow too much, had this issue on a Mini I used to Sprint.
That's one huge filter

Have you been out on it since you fitted the filter Seb? Be interesting to see how she runs without the jetting being altered. Which jet set have you bought to stick in? I just ordered a Factory Pro Ti set for mine.
How are you getting on with the braced swingarm mate? Any movement yet?

I've not fit the jet kit to it so don't know if using it for 100 miles or so will damage the bike?
gave it a quick polish over with a cloth too

Very pretty (and clean).
My bike is dirty... A dirty dirty bad bad bad girl.
Just the way I like 'em

Sooooo....
Fitted rear light and number plate, sorted headlight wiring and put in a couple of new fuses. Noticed one of the front indicators was a bit wonky so replaced both with the rears I removed from when I had the standard rear end.
Then taxed the wombles and went for a ride
However.......
I made it 3 corners before the freshly laid gravel on the streets round my end caught me out and spat me off at about 5 mph. Going from gravel to tarmac on fresh rubber isnt my idea of fun even at 5mph.
Dusted myself off, picked the bike up. Checked to see if anything had wombles after picking it up and it seems as though nothing was severely knackerd. All I could see at the time was a snapped bar end, bent rear brake lever, pushed in exhaust and scratched a couple of bits (off side mirror, the belly pan and RHS engine casing). So lucky for me it didn't go down far enuff to touch the tank or anything else more difficult to fix.
So 2 choices...be a pussy and go home with my tail between my legs and sulk about what had just happened or ride to the petrol station and fuel up and go for a blast. I thought wombles it I'm on a bike I haven't ridden in about 6 months and apart from a bent rear brake lever nothing else is gonna cause me any major probs.
Or so I thought.....we rode to the nearest fuel station....they're out of fuel

wombles MY LIFE!!!!
About half way between them and the next one, my exhaust suddenly gets EXTREMELY loud. wombles it....I'm half a mile away...whats the worst that it could be...I can make it that far.
Pull up to the pumps. My 2 mates following me on their bikes rush over to see whats going on. Turns out the exhaust had worked its way loose and was dangling off the hanger

Must not have tightened it up enuff and the force of dropping knocked the link pipe off the headers.
Luckily whilst we were there, a chap popped over to see if he could be of assistance. Turns out "George", a biker himself (owns a CB1300 I think he said, who coincidently has an amazing name (same as my sons)) lives just up the road from the station and would more than happily get some tools to help me out. I asked him if he'd look after my exhaust while I rode it home without anything other than open pipes

He looked at me funny,I got his number and watched him toddle off into the distance with my link pipe and can.
Anyway...I've heard that even with new tyres and open pipes Storms wheelie....Of course I can neither confirm nor deny this fact

It did run like a bag of nails and luckily the 2nd station was only a few miles from home.
Got her home and made a few more checks to see if anything was FUBAR.
Upon a bit of a deeper inspection it looks like I may need a new RHS rearset assy (why did I have to make that post, bet it would have been fine if I hadn't done it!!) and won't be able to tell any more til tomorrow when it's light.
Snoogle Woogle signing out for the evening...so all in all a bit of a bitter sweet ending to the evening
PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THE PISS...I WILL HUNT YOU DOWN AND GIVE YOU THE DOUBLE PINEAPPLE TREATMENT
