I dunno, the 'storm's original bars, mirror and built like a tank standard can saved me from a lot of damage when it slide down the road... Only had to replace one mirror, a bar end weight and the clutch lever! (Well, and both wheels, but that was during an earlier/different part of the accident!).

Still got a few scuffs on the rear seat plastic and the can, but it's all character...

I'm sure some of you would say the more yellow paint gets rubbed off the better

Anyway, glad you're alright Snoogle, and good to hear it didn't put you off riding.

Oh, and I forgot...

What I did today... Well I almost decided where the alarm flashing light is going to go, and as BSM seems to have a very oddly routed loom, I decided to kill two birds with one stone and take the front end plastic off.
Took photos of the wiring for BSM and then got side tracked by my levers which felt a little stiff after the long layup. So took them all apart, cleaned them up and then regreased everything and put it back together again.
Feel much better now.
If I can find anywhere suitable between home and work tomorrow I shall be buying some brake fluid and bleeding the brakes and the clutch. The brakes felt fine during a recent test run, but the fluid was never changed by me even before the layup, so it's very old by now! Hopefully that will stop my gear changes being so clonky. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it goddammit!

I still haven't got the alarm light fitted!

My garage is rapidly turning into a pile of 'storm spares, and my storm is getting smaller all the time!

Oh, one other thing. Won an R6 rectifier/regulator on fleabay the other day. For under £4! Even with postage it's only £7!

Give me a shout if there's anything you're not sure about from the piccies.

From the front on view there are two cables which go towards the O/S. They are the O/S switch gear and the ignition. The only other things that go O/S are the throttle cables. Everything else is N/S, and the main loom follows the clutch pipe along the bottom of the lower frame rail.

You might want to brighten the images up before printing them. They're okay on the screen (well mine at least) but you're trying to follow black cables going over black cables and then disappearing into the dark! lol!

Just read your post Snoogle. that was a wombles wasn't it. I would go and sweep the gravel up if I were you. Teach it a lesson....
Glad your alright and there's just a bit of cosmetic damage to the bike. The paintwork is still good, so just silly things to change/fix. I hate riding on gravel, I always go slowly with both legs out ready, on those kind of driveways.

It wasnt a driveway...it is pretty much all the roads around my house that have been covered in bitchumen (tar stuff) and re-covered in gravel/road covering. I was going VERY VERY steady and barely leant over due to the new tyres. I think more than anything it was dust on the tyres and going from the gravel to the flat/old tarmac. No point in putting in a claim to the highways as it was signposted to say what was going on and as far as I see it was just one of them things. Also just seen that I've scuffed the new jacket on the right arm...leather conditioner will hopefully get that out

Don't get me wrong I'm gutted, but easily fixable and repairable providing I can get hold of the parts.

Worst thing was it felt like there was nothing I could really have done about it. By the time I realised the front end was slipping on the tarmac and not just weaving cause of the dust and gravel I was alreadty half way down. Gutted
