Will everyone please take a bit more care and stop dropping their bl**dy bikes!
I haven't even got mine back on the road yet, and by the time I do I feel I'll be the last in tact and road legal 'storm in the country!

if i dropped mine again i think i would have a break down, dont think im going to use it now this winter, i may just buy a scooter and use that or little road legal pit bike if i can find one close by at a reasonable pricetankslappa wrote:Will everyone please take a bit more care and stop dropping their bl**dy bikes!

The less they weigh the less damage when you loose the front, plus i would probably just kick a scooter back into shape

Seb that exhaust system is stunning, good choice!

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
Filled it with fuel and went for a run out

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
Over the weekend I have had the top yoke off, sprayed with black Hammerite Satin finish and put a fake carbon fibre sticker on. Put the yoke back on and while I was at it I dropped my forks 10mm. Just down to where the springy circlip (sort of) thingy majig wraps around.
Then scalpelled out a section for the Hondo logo and took paint of to reveal more.

I have also fitted my manual CCT's.
Had fun and games with that, and ended up having to remove the front rocker cover. Oil cooler, radiator bolts, carbs and plastic shield all off.
Anyhow all back together and she is purring like a kitten now.
I even managed to loose the erratic idle speed and now have her running at 1200 without any fluctuations.
While I had the carbs off I checked and reset my mixture screws to two and half turns out.

Have a look down here

Front Cylinder

Rear Cylinder

Then I gave the bike a wash and polish over.

So all in all a busy weekend for me. If the weather is like it was today, I shall be going for a ride out tomorrow.
Have Fun.

Wonderfully clean that mate, just the front down pipe cleaned up and it would look like brand new!
Have a look at getting some 954 pegs to replace those stock fat feckers, direct fit and much slimmer but still have the factory fitted look

Yeh mate any CBR954's not sure if the 929 are the same but probably are, not all cosmetic 929 parts are same as 954'scybercarl wrote:Yeh I regret not having the header off when doing my exhaust, I was going to spray them Black.

Pegs bit slimmer but still look natural to the bike, they will do me till i eventually get rear sets one day
The bars people have had issues with i think are 929's they are different to the 954's different angle and different sweep to them is probably why people have had issues fitting them as they may have been sold as 954 items, but genuine 954's work well with 954 forks and tipples

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
Did my CCT's in red with a lot of help from grumyfrog and jazzscot - thanks fellas.
Got right under the bike to clean them awkward areas....then saturated the bike in that ACF-50 spray stuff ma jig. Fantastic stuff, was left with pools of rusty coloured gunk on the garage floor. Greased vunerable areas with ACF-50 grease. Gonna Hammerite some bits later in the week.
Fitted a fag lighter socket thing under the seat
Scrubbed up the wheels and calipers
Fitted rubber trim to the screen and seat cowl
Replaced front mudguard bolts with nice black ones
Just waiting for tuesday - bike failed the MOT on tyres. Got 2 Contys getting fitted for 150 smackers thanks to Derek at Angus Classic Bikes. Re-MOT then the good bit, de-baffled cans on.....oh yes.
