I'm mad but not that mad

I don't think I have even had the bike up to the redline yet. I have tried but I either run out of road or there is traffic.
It's more than likely fuelling. The bike has always been extra bad on fuel, when I first got the bike it was averaging about 80 ish mpg. Seems to be drinking more since I had the carbs of and set the mixture screws two and half turns out.

cybercarl wrote:You know what, I never note how many litres go in at the pump, I always look at the price. When the light comes on I put about £16 in to fill up. Tank has no dents, but I suspect it's fuelling as you said.
The carbs have never been apart in the time I have had it. I have a spare set of carbs, I was going to wait to get a factory pro kit and install that first. But I might just bung them on to make comparisons see how she runs.

so that is about 11l for £16, when I have done 100 miles it takes 11l or 12l to fill, but normally the red light is not on yet. so your tank is not dented............bike is running rich, or has a leak

Today I decided to put my spare set of carbs on the bike. First off I needed to give them a clean. So open up float chamber and this is what I it looked like.
YUK sticky gooey tar like shite everywhere. Look at the state of those jets.

So of to Halfrauds and bought some carb cleaning spray. Gave it all a good clean, removed the jets, used a bit of wire alongside the sparay and unblocked the thick yukky like the remains of a bong shite from the jets. Put it all back on the bike and she's running. Done a quick carb sync and adjusted idle speed. Shall see how she runs and what my fuel economy is like.

Whatever it was it closely resembled nicotine/tar. I bought the carbs on the bay because they looked lovely and clean on the outside and were advertised as coming of a low mileage bike. That must have been one sick bike
BSM, that avatar is very disturbing/distracting and if anyone who has epilepsy is reading through here you might give them a seizure. I will slow the flashing down for you and give you an improved version of it.

Looks like it's been run on a 2 stroke tank mix!
Oh, and by the way... Soldered up the R6 R/R... Looks great...
Only one problem... Damn body work fowls it!
Bl**dy feckin beep beep beep...
So tomorrow I shall be undoing all my nice loom work (yes, it was all taped up), and looking for a better location...
Either that, or cutting the corner off the heatsink...
Guess which one is most likely??

heatsink...

If it's just the flasher relay in the way, can't you just shift it along the frame a bit.
Looks like it's been run on a 2 stroke tank mix!
More like 60 Capstan navy cuts a day.

just remember to mount it in a position where it can get some air flowing over it, having said that, mines in the normal place and with an undertray fitted i doubt it gets much airflow.......doh!!!!!!
i'm making no sense i need to go to sleep......

That's exactly where I was trying to put it, but trying to use one of the original holes and keep clear of the plastic is like a task from the krypton factor!

Nah... To easy. I'll leave the low hanging fruit for someone else
