Malc, I sent my Penske to Roger D for a refurb/service and Roger found the rod connected to the rebound adjuster broken! No wonder it was like riding a wild boar on speed! It may just be that!? Don't give up on it mate and I hope its nothing major

Was it the same symptoms as I described ?, sounds like that might be my problem, the bike was really soft to bounce but felt hard on the road, was throwing the whole bike about and probably not dissimilar to riding a wild boar on speed especially if there were a few bumps.

Not today but yesterday I discovered the the road I use as my test strip has now had some speed humps put in place and has been reduced to a 20mph speed limit. I'm gutted as I have been using this road for years, with all my vehicles since the 80's. Everytime I work on my bike and I need to go for a little test ride this is where I went, come home, make further adjustments and go out and test again.

It was a quite industrial type road with only a quite side road/junction towards one end of the road, but now over the last few years it is being built up around and becoming a hip area for the rich including a hotel, shops, apartments etc. To top it off some of the surrounding land that has been built on in the vicinity is still condemned land. It's been left derelict for many years. I saw guys with suits and masks on when the foundations where being put in place I heard on the grape vine that they got permission to build on the land by bribing the council with the promise of building some cheap affordable homes. So get this....they built some cheap modern looking riverbank flats/ blocks, people moved in. Then they built the expensive apartment blocks overlooking the river and a park area etc surrounding the cheap shite. The cheap shite was so bad that it's falling apart and everyone has now moved out and it's boarded up and looking derelict. It wont be long now before that is knocked down and replaced with posh expensive apartment blocks to fit in with the rest.

This area is not the same as it used to be. Another good reason to get out of London.

What's annoyed me today?

Well, the neighbours...again.

Why is it, when the Sun comes out for 5 minutes, everyone thinks it's ok to throw open the windows, put the stereo speakers on the sills, and blast their bloody music out for all to hear?



I've bollocked them before, saying "we don't all want to hear it"...and if they don't turn it down, then "I'll come round and cut the speaker wire flush with my pliers". That usually gets them to turn it down.

"oh but your a biker...and we thought you wouldn't mind loud music..."

Erm...I don't mind the music per se, but if we listen to REALLY LOUD music or a live band, then it's in a field with 400 other bike guys, away from houses and disturbs nobody but us. Here, in a built up area, it's called "having respect for other people you live close to".

If you whack it through sh1tty cheap speakers that are placed on a window-sill for all the street to hear, and the speakers struggle to cope with anything more than 4 on the dial, it's MORE than just annoying, and you stand a good chance of me coming round there and putting the hammer through yer system.

Did a similar thing once before in a town I stayed in prior to where I am now. Druggie guy rat-arsed and stoned, belting out his tunes at 3am. Despite numerous people on the block asking him to turn it down or they'd "call the police", he continued, knowing that if plod turned up, he'd get a warning, he'd turn it down for them, and as soon as they were gone, up the volume would go.

He had an "open house" to save people knocking all the time, so, WE went over, walked in with a pair of wire snips, and just took his hi-fi away, leaving him with just the speakers. (no time faffing with following or untangling cables....just lift, snip, and go). He never came over to ask for it back.

Got some fog lights for the bike the other week (well, my Dad did as he thought it would be nice. And it was) from Cree. Fitted them on Sunday, rode home from his (about 60 miles) and noticed it hanging by the wiring when I got home as the cage the light was in broke away from the mount on my accessory bar on the bike.. (The two bolts Cree had fitted before shipping the part had snapped). No big deal, went to halfords and got some replacements and fixed it up yesterday before heading to Bassetts Pole.

I've heard good things about Cree before. Either I've heard wrong or I just got a light from a bad batch, the light on the other side of the bike is still looking and working as intended. We've contacted them for a replacement, but I'm still not particularly happy.

Virt I think but not 100% sure, that Cree is just the LED bit...Not ness the whole light fitting...I could be wrong & quite often I am, the super bright LED torch that I use for work is a Cree but it's just a ''Cree lamp'' in a torch made by A.N.Other...

Whats annoyed me today...going back to work after a spiffing weekend of Bikes & Japes in Devon with the Stormcrew & the Granada Owners Club...

Day three of the Man Plague...current status after another bad night of fevererish hour long sleep cycles...I'm hot...feck it I'm freezin...I'm feckin hot again... Today the tap has been turned off so not dripping snot all day...but the hacking painful chesty cough has kicked in...lung butter ahoy ! That'll teach me to smoke...

Not quite ready for the knackers yard...but getting there...
