Consider another V-twin as a back up?? I can recommend an old Moto Guzzi or a CX500. You get a slow heat radiating into yer knees from the pots (with the V twin sticking out sideways, your knees sit directly behind them).countrymick wrote:aching knees....old bones must need heat these days
They're also good for keeping yer hands warm on chilly days out riding, as the pots stick out a fair bit, they're easy to rest a damp/cold glove onto whilst on the move (clutch hand is easy, throttle glove needs a cruise control plastic mod added to allow you to take hand of throttle, place hand on pot, whilst keeping at a steady speed).
If you use a Guzzi or maggot in winter with a full fairing, the rising heat coming at you is most welcome!
