Another Airshow plane crash. It was due to come to Bournemouth but sadly didn't make it.

The last time 2011 one of the pilots wife was on the Tannoy saying how good to actually see her husband at the show for a change, 2 hrs later the pilot "Eggman" had crashed and died.

Very sad, maybe that may stop them or get them doing stunts out to see or over countryside only. Bournemouth is esp good as they run all along the coast and into the bay. Spectacular but also horrid if they crashed. The planes were so low too that you could see the pilots.

With Binos i could easily see the Vulcan pilots.
missing the noise, not the vibes. However never say never!

Thieving b8stard at 3am this morning.

Woke up at 3am this morning to hear mrs going down stairs, then opening and closing front door. When i asked her what was up she said someone hD just nicked a pint of milk from the front door !!!!!

She described them as three people but one woman with long blonde hair, do off i charged in car, went up the estate(we live in a cul de sac as far away from a thoroughfare) didn't find them but then as i came up the road there they were, no milk bottle. I had them dazzled with every light on the car and wound window down and told them stealing milk was theft!!!! They denied it at first then i told them they had been seen, and they kept walking so i told them police had been called and they were waiting up the road for them, just to sh1t them up !!!!!! That made them change route!!!

Its not the cost of the milk its just the thievery and me having to be up at 3am then having to go to work to keep the thieving sods.

about to get my butt slapped by my local garage, took it in for an mot, I also gave them a new front tyre to fit, I've also had to ask them to fit a new rear brake pedal, and finally they found that the rear wheel bearings have a lot of play, so it also needs new rear wheel bearings, now I know the mot's £35, but I've been told that to fit a new front tyre is £25!!!! me thinks that's taking the piss....
but having a broken wrist I can't work on the bike myself. so I reckon i'll be looking at a bill of £150, can't remember what there hourly rate is but it won't be cheap, what's a fair amount of time to to do rear wheel bearings and to replace the rear brake pedal that I provided them. all they're providing is the rear wheel bearing and labour.
we shall see.

I'd have said 2 hours tops go do everything. It's not like it's to tricky. 30-40 mins for the tyre. While the wheel is of 15-20 for the bearings, 10-15 for the pedal then refit the rear wheel and set chain slack ect 20mins

the front tyre should only take 10-15mins, as they've got all the correct machinery, but that shouldn't effect the labour charge, as they've already said it's £25 for the tyre change, if the labour is near £50 an hour, which being a business in central London, it probably is, plus the slap butt for bearings, we know they can be bought cheap enough, but when they're supplying them, it's a different matter, 1hrs = £50 labour, mot = £35, tyre is £25, cost of the bearings £?, the labour is only for the wheel bearing and refit of the brake pedal, can't see it taking 2 hours for that
so it'll depend on the cost of the bearings and vat. I still think it'll be £150ish.... :(

Re wheel bearings - There's two for the rear wheel (and a dust seal) - and more £££ if they also do the sprocket carrier bearing and dust seal...

Make sure they put the collar back in ;-)

Prices from a specialist bearing supplier should be around ½ / 2/3 compared to Honda supplied.

Limping around today after yesterday gashing/skinning my shin when putting my leg through a plastic garden chair when using it for DIY in the house.

Spent £10 in Boots chemist on dressings and bandages - luckily the cat licked up the blood splatters but now she licks her lips and looks longingly at me...

Waiting for proper Hop Up Work Platform to be delivered before recommencing DIY mountaineering.

good news and bad news, I got a call from my local garage this evening to say my bike was ready for collection, all the work was done and the bike passed with no advisories....
I also managed to get the price down from £130 to £110, which was handy.
all the staff commented on how nice the bike was.... :biggrin
sadly the garage is changing ownership, as the current owner is getting tired of it. we'll have to wait and see what the new guys are like.
so here's the bad news.....
some tw@t in his merc decided to park across the disabled ramp access to my nans garden, so I can't even park my bike under cover unless it moves.... :Argue 1: :Argue 1: :Argue 1:
I've used some brown packing tape to leave a message on his windscreen, which reads no parking, lets see if he's got the ball to come knocking.
this happens a few times a year, although it's happened twice today, the first time it blocked my nan from getting out on her scooter.
I've finally decided to buy some of these......

at least it'll cause the driver more grief.....
