what have you done to your "bike" today

Post by cliveyandrews »

Put it on paddock stand, lifted back of tank and dropped in shock spacer. Then spent 4 bloody hours looking for my other long velocity stack - disappeared off the face of the earth. Grrr. Wanted to swap it in ready for Dyno run next week. Once I was reduced to a crippled sweaty blob (emptied shed out and in 3 times) I gave up. Cleaned and oiled K&N, but didn't fit yet. Round 2 in the other shed today - although might just do an oil change first....

It's on the mantelpiece, being admired.

Ideally you get three dyno runs, one with both shorts in, one with one of each and one run with two longs.

But it doesn't matter what the numbers say, it's what it feels like and whether it suits your riding style.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

just finished carb clean, they were ok tbh, but it was good to clean crud of the outsides and get to know about that area of the bike, in between watching a load of sunburnt people at Snetterton. Replaced coolant and started to prep for replacing the brake lines with some s/s ones, which I'll do Tues given the fairing is off. Bus to work tomorrow then or cycle and have a beetroot face for about 6 hours

BSM and myself took a rideout to visit YETI today. Cup of tea and cake out in the sunny garden, very nice. It was good to get out of town and get on some country roads. Went through some lovely twisties and my bike is running very well. :D

Thank you very much for your hospitality YETI, I had a lovely day.

Have Fun

What I've done to my bike today... Rode it to work... Watched it get rained on! (I'm sorry bike!).
Must remember to fill up on the way home.

Now I just want that big cloud to sod off now it's made things damp. I don't want spray to deal with too.

I was aiming for the 2 long, I don't track the bike, so with the K&N, a Dynojet based on long stacks, I was aiming for max drive out the corners. Got a couple of breakers ringing me back, so I might get a replacement just in time (to spot the one left on the mantelpiece). The bikes booked for the day at Swadlincote, he seems to know 'Storms well.

I need to sneak purchase a speedo healer and drop the front sprocket a tooth. Shhh, nobody tell Pauline.

Then fit me flywheel and rebuild my spare forks, uprated springs, thicker oil and new seals.

Good job it's a long weekend - though I have a new Barbie/Smoker to christen....

*EDIT: Managed to source another stack - on overnight, so I can get it fitted on Friday, and still drop the bike off in time! The other one is BOUND to appear now!

So you're not worried about the diminutive stature, lack of genitals or that she can't go near a cooker for fear of melting?
