what have you done to your "bike" today

Got this alarm delivered today. £11.99 inc P+P on ebay. Battery operated will easily fit under seat. It's loud with an annoying siren. It cable ties in position but im going to use it on my pushbike as well so will think of someway to locate it on the Honda.

Took The Murvinator out to get it's new boots fitted.

My first ride on it, my first ride with a flat bar conversion...Hmmm diffrent thats for sure, will take a bit of time to get used to it.

Ride there was taken easy as 10 year old rear & a front dated 1914!

Ride back take it easy as new tyres...

So first impressions feels like your more sitting on it, has mirror extenders on it so rear vision is ok.

Shock is set quite hard & despite me being a bit on the porky side still to stiff, same with the front feels hard.

Another job for another day...

It's wearing Blonkys old fairing as I wanted to try it befor cutting It's origonal, which is currently on Nue Red anyway...

Shiney new rear end & an old hugger.

F4i callipers, SBS pads & Armstrong waveys...

Veiw from the seat, CnC yoke & Renthal low bars, still need a few minor tweeks.

it took a bit of getting used to it when I first put flat bars on mine, but I found raising the forks up through the yoke a bit and reducing the preload on the forks (increasing the sag) helped a lot, as it compensated for having less body weight on the forks.

i cant work out if your bars are higher than mine (think mine are the ultralow bend) and rotated further backwards, but once you get a good position for your wrists, it will start to become more normal each ride

Forks prob need a service TBH will have a play with various settings, as said the shock is up quite stiff had a quick look & its 1 off from hardest...

Took delivery of the yokes and fork legs . Very good and super fast turnaround as they only got them Monday and back with me today .tomorrow I should take delivery of the new springs ,seals,bushes,oil . Hope to get the front end back together Sunday

I found like Al said another 2mm more of fork legs above the top yoke helped, and it does take a little time to adjust to the new riding position I agree.

If that is a standard OEM rear shock, I found the best set up when I was using mine was the lowest preload setting, mileage may make a difference though. No wonder it's hard riding being one from the hardest setting

Persevere with it, it'll be worth it

Got rid of the Spyball alarm

Minor tinkering on The Murvinator.

Adjusted the rear shock from hardest to softest, give that a try out on the next ride, took some preload off the forks as well.

Changed the screen & swapped the seat for a more padded one.

Someone was after the forks so pulled me finger out & took 'em off.

As no front wheel so no moving it about carried on stripping...oooh Matron !

You've been a fine work horse Custurd, done a fine job carrying me to work, survived the abuse I gave you. Yes you could have lived on to take me to retirement but I couldn't bear throwing any more money at you...I've had me £'s worth out of you & put up with your drinking habbits for too long...So farewell dear freind farewell.













It's just a collection of metal & plastic... Let the Vultures pick the bones...I've aready moved on to the next one...
