Well it finally decided to be a nice day here so was able to get the bike closer to back on the road.
thought I had all the bits needed but found out I was sold the wrong bearings for my front wheel.
So after getting that sorted......hybrid ceramic wheel bearings for a RC51 can be tough to find.......though the set for the rear was correct so after cleaning my wheels and giving them a fresh coat of wax.....
Got the rear end back together
Though I didn't take any pics of the fork build, they have new fork tubes & bushings, SKF green seals and of course fresh fluid and got them reinstalled
Now just waiting for the correct bearings to show up.....
The way you're going you'll be able to ride the bike very soon
Looking great Mike
White wheels do look the part when they are spotlessly clean like that,
Chris.

Started to clean up secondhand Titax Levers Ebay purchase, gold anodising is getting stripped off so will be alloy colour, clean and grease adjusters should be good to go.

Fitted an r and g tail tidy and sequential indicators.
The New Rage Cycles indicators failed again, second time, so that's in the bin. Going for a more expensive option backfired this time... Don't waste your money on NRC stuff, the quality and durability is poor. Also their after sales service- when they failed the first time they wouldn't fully honour the warranty and charged me £40 postage and duty for the replacement part, which I thought was poor.

Very disappointing when something like that happens
Chris.

Well after 7 years of neglect and 3 cleaning cycles of the carbs in an ultrasonic bath it’s alive, booked it in for an MOT this morning and it passed with flying colours and is a hoot to ride.

My 98 firestorm had its 16,000m service - new Dunlop Sportsmart IIIs - valve clearances adjusted - they were tight - get it back this week…
