Did a few bits on Rothburg.
Raided Franks stock pile & fitted a hugger.
Removed the lowered foot pegs & fitted some std ones.
Removed the gash blue bar grips replaced with some from stock.
Took the mahosive plate off & fitted a wee one, can get to the seat lock now. Was going to fit a bracket for the plate but found the undertray has been glued on with lashings of silicone . So that's a no go...Bah.
Took the fairings off to find the sidelight wire as it wasn't plugged in. Sorted that & had a mare getting the fairing to line up. Its a Chinees aftermarket job I had to enlarge the holes so I could use the correct shouldered bolts but the top right side bolt would not line up. Dug out a bracket from an F2 as they are steel not the ali as per the early bikes, bit of a tweak & it lined up.
Of course it started spitting so that will do for the day.
You've been busy Mac
Chris.

Great job - I did the same a while back, a repeated blast of plusgas over a week, also cut a sponge into a small cube, popped in a wee bag and gaffer taped to the studs, worked a treat
To remove I gently tightened the studs a bit then backed off...must say it was a relief as I had read some horror stories about the drama if the studs break

I know I've said it before, but I'm going to say it again

Plusgas is one of the best for penetrating seized threads.
Well done Mick
Chris.

Agree but a 50-50 mix of ATF & Acetone works wonders. I mixed up a ltrs worth, in a bottle*. Shake it up, it separate's out when left, & use a brush to apply...
* Acetone will eat plastics so a glass bottle is safe for storage.

Took Rothburg out for a spin.
Much better with std pegs on it, feet naturally find the pegs first time, gear change is spot on (bar one missed gear but new boots so that's my excuse)
Still need to sort a few bits out. Throttle adjustment, some wiring issues & other bits...Like the cack indis !
Tucked away as start a new shift on the morrow...

Cheers Mac that’s handy to know, thanks for the reminder about acetone and plastic not getting on
Chris.
